Undersized natives (Murray Cod 55cm and under, Golden Perch 30cm and under) or protected species (Silver Perch/Catfish) must be returned to the water immediately and are not eligible for entry to the competition.
You can enter each native fish caught over the minimum length to count towards the champion angler prize but you cannot enter the same fish more than once. *NOTE – The largest native fish entered by an angler for Biggest Murray Cod or Biggest Golden Perch will be deducted from their cumulative total length to ensure all anglers have the opportunity to compete for the champion angler prize.
Non-native fish species (carp) must be photographed (as per photo rules) and disposed of by angler.

Taking Your Picture
-------------------
Each legal native fish (e.g. Murray Cod, Golden Perch) angled must be photographed and released with the least possible harm as soon as possible to the water.
All native fish entered MUST be released. Entrants found keeping entered fish will be instantly disqualified.
Oversize cod may be entered as long as the photo is taken at the immediate location where the fish was landed, and the fish is returned to the water with the least possible injury as quickly as possible. Please refer to NSW DPI’s photographing fish which are not permitted to be taken policy if entering oversized Murray Cod over 75cm (https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/fishing-rules-and-regs/photographing-fish)
Photo must be of a live fish. Photos showing signs of mutilation, damage, incorrect style of hook used, excessive blood or improper handling will be deemed unfit for entry.
It is the Competitors responsibility to supply their own means of photographing their catch and Brag mat for the Photo.
Fish must be photographed on a brag mat of good quality with easily visible numbers. Photo must be taken square on to the fish and mat (see example photos).
Your entry number must be placed at the top of the mat near the fishes’ head and the entrant number clearly displayed in the photo. Near to this must be placed the item of the day. This will be determined and sent to you closer to the commencement of the event.
The nose of the fish must be level with the zero mark on the mat or the stopper if the mat has one. The entire fish and the measuring edge of the mat must be visible in the photo with the length of the fish being clearly identified and legible.
The dorsal fin must point to the top of the mat.
The brag mat must be on a flat surface with no creases.
Entries are judged on length*. Measurements will be rounded down to the nearest centimetre. To take the lead the fish must be 1cm longer than the current leader. In the event of a tie the entry received first will be deemed the winner so if you catch a fish get that photo in ASAP.
Any digital manipulation of the photo will be deemed as cheating and will result in the angler being disqualified.
Once you are happy with your photo you must enter it as soon as possible by SMS to the phone number supplied on the morning of the first day of the competition.
An auto reply will be sent confirming we have received your photo entry. Photos will be received no later than 11:00am on the Sunday of the competition weekend.
